Family!

One of my favorite traditions that my family has is before Thanksgiving dinner we go out and delver Thanksgiving dinners to families who can not afford to get it themselves. I always remember mom and dad waking me up early in the morning and going to the Red Lobseter where the group of people who were going to delver these meals would meet and load their cars with food for others. I loved getting out of the car at the houses and giving the meals to the families and seeing their faces light up, that really made my day. One time when I was younger I asked my parents why do we have to do this? They responded saying because We should be thankful for all that we have and give to the people who do not have as much. They then told me to look at how happy each family is when they get their meals and how thankful they are. They told me this should make me grateful as well for everything I have. From then on I love to delver meals on Thanksgiving with my family.

Mid-term for IDC!

Wow! It's almost mid-term, which means there will be mid-term exams! One exam I have to focus on studying for is IDC. How do I plan to do this? Well first, I'm going to start studying this week. I'm going to go onto the public folder for IDC and print out the notes my teacher has put up. Then I plan to take it day by day. What I mean by this is everyday I will study one subject that will be on the exam. Then two nights before and the night before I will go over everything. I plan to make flash cards of the vocab. and the main points. Then for the things more detailed I'm going re type them up myself to reinforce it in my head. Through this I hope to remember the topics better without stressing the night before.

Thinking back through my years of learning and trying to figure out what was the most effective in class learning experience I had, well with out a doubt it had to be the verbs carnival we had in 11th grade. Each student was aside a verb and we had to make a booth out of our verb to be at the verb carnival. We had to decorate and us colors that would enhance our verb. We also had to take pictures of our verb and put it up a poster bored for everyone to see. But my favorite part out of the project was when we had to write a story about our verb. It was so much fun. Almost as if our verb was a live. After this project was done I learned to have fun with learning and always be creative and even if the teacher does not make it fun and creative I can.
After thinking about what has been the most effective leaning experience in class, I was thinking what has been the most effective learning experience out of class? Growing up I have always been the only child and had to learn how to entertain myself and use my imagination a lot. I had a swing set in my back yard, well to me that was not just a swing set that was anything I dreamed of it being. Lots of times it would be a juggle that I had to find my way through. Because I was an only child I learned that I could do and be anything I wanted to be... all I had to do was dream and then follow through with a plan and to never give up so easily

where do I stand?

Coming to college you are going to be exposed to so many different ideas and different beliefs. As I made my way throw my past two weeks of school I've seen so many cracks I could have fallen down into if I did not have integrity. There have been parties going on, drinking, and even smaller, not studying. Since I know what my morals are and what I believe in, I do not go to parties and drink and I try to put my studies first. So, for me having integrity has made a difference in how I've started out my college career. I believe that having integrity throw out the rest of my college career will keep me focused and able to succeed here at Converse College.

high school to college

Wow! Its been two weeks since starting Converse College and I've already notice some major changes I've had to make in my life thus far. One of these major changes is how i spend my time. When I was in high school I did not have reading for every subject I was taking and did not have two to three papers due all at the same time, and most of all I did not have people around me all the time. I have found that I can no longer say yes everytime friends want to hang out. I also found out that there is no way I can studying in my room anymore and it a lot harder to focus. I've devloped some stagies for these problems. One: go study some where quit where I know people I know well not be walking in every five mintuinte. Two: I have to say no to going out to eat or hanging out in somones elses dorm if my homework is not done. Three: Make sure I check all my binders for homework, becasue teachers no longer tell you when you have some.
And all in all school before social and focus.

I've created this bog for my converse 101 class. It seems to me this will be fun. I'm looking forward to everything convese 101 is going to teach me and I love how creative we have to be.
School has been crazy this week, a lot to hold on to and remember. But it is def. not high school and more. :D
I"ve never had so much homework in one night it was a bit stressful at times but I made it through :D. Finally the weekend I'm so happy! I get to sleep in and not have to be some where at a set time... YAY! Relaxing time.
